I only know the very basics of Vim now, maybe two dozen commands, but I'm sure this will ratchet up that number quite quickly.Michaelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485972740370684445.post-10153299870089621662011-11-03T11:13:07.398-07:002011-11-03T11:13:07.398-07:00Thanks very much for this, Alf. I've been using your card deck for 2 days now and wouldn't have tried to learn VIM without it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485972740370684445.post-10380906436132866132011-05-06T13:06:31.995-07:002011-05-06T13:06:31.995-07:00hello, I will read everything about this blog.hello, I will read everything about this blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485972740370684445.post-90869315014848013412011-02-17T09:56:58.321-08:002011-02-17T09:56:58.321-08:00This is really cool. I consider myself an advanced user of vim, but I notice that I tend to get lost in doing things my own little way and there are many commands I still need to learn.

I tried this out using Anki and already learned two more useful commands. I will continue to do this daily and let you know how it goes.Sumpygumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06415341591513077748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485972740370684445.post-44683187384328687862011-01-21T10:52:17.521-08:002011-01-21T10:52:17.521-08:00This is great. The only thing that I think would significantly improve it is to write a plugin that teaches the deck to recognize typed commands. Currently you can set the deck to allow user input, and then it will compare with the answer. This works for simple commands, like move left (h), but fails on commands that involve CNTRL, RETURN, or ESC (or equivalently CNTRL-[, which I use). I think this would allow the user to develop muscle memory much faster.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15679142993653261748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485972740370684445.post-4870202159981972982010-12-03T06:44:25.224-08:002010-12-03T06:44:25.224-08:00I hope you find it helpful!
